We interviewed Dr Buathon Thienarrom, a wellness practitioner who helps clients achieve a state of relaxation and tune into their inner spirit

Buathon Thienarrom has extensive background in nursing, psychology, and health sociology, as well as undergoing training in Taosim, sound healing, Tibetan Medicine, and mind training. Buathon created ZenNaTai, a unique holistic healing approach which is designed to rid the body and mind of unwanted tensions, allowing a state of relaxation instead. Currently based in Hua Hin in Thailand, Buathon regularly visits several spas in Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Maldives to deliver and promote her distinct approach to healing.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START PRACTICING HOLISTIC HEALING? HOW DID YOU GET INTO IT?

Since I was a teenager, I have always wanted to find out the ways to lead a simple, healthy, and happy life. So, I trained as a nurse, with the hope of learning how to look after myself. And the journey began from there. My nursing career allowed me to understand how people go through an illness, and that to heal and overcome the health condition, a journey of transformation must be made. Through studying psychology, I began to understand the importance of mentality and the patient’s state of mind in the recovery process. Through engaging with Taoist practice, I learnt about the energy of the spirit, and through my sociology studies, I learnt about social wellbeing. Finally, I learnt how to maintain the positive, uplifting spirit with Tibetan Medicine, which allows me to explore various traditions of mind training from Theravada Buddhism, Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism.

DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN THREE WORDS

Principled, compassionate, and joyful.

ZENNATAI IN A NUTSHELL

ZenNaTai restores the harmony between the mind and the body. The energetic healing massage balances three state of minds: the physical, the emotional and subtle mind. The healing of the physical mind relieves tension headaches, sleep quality, and improves concentration and mental clarity. The healing of the emotional and subtle mind releases unnecessary emotions, allowing a state of relaxation and a peaceful state of mind. ZenNaTai allows all three minds to be balanced, and this allows circulation, the lymphatic flow, and a life force energy to help support the release of toxins.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A TREATMENT SESSION WITH YOU?

Each treatment will begin with a consultation to identify the client’s goals and to figure out how to heal the condition. Each treatment session is customized to the client. Most treatments will start with conscious breathing to guide and slow down the mind and to tune into a state of healing.

WHO SHOULD COME FOR A SESSION?

The sessions are made for everyone. If you feel a block and wish to release it, there is a treatment for you.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT ZENNATAI?

The client and I both see the changes and results at the end of each session, and I become a part of their transformation journey.

WHERE DO YOU WORK FROM AT THE MOMENT?

I offer the healing services at Sukkasart Institute, Hua Hin by appointment only, and I also travel to a few destinations to offer my healing skills, to teach, and to host retreats.

ARE YOU A VISITING PRACTITIONER AT ANY OF THE RESORTS AND WELLNESS RETREATS?

I am a visiting practitioner at The Mandarin Spa at Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, The Peninsula Spa Bangkok, The Anantara Spa at the Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort Oman, and the Anantara Spa at the Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara.

BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

Listen to your heart and go with the flow, follow a “heart based journey”.

SOMETHING YOU’RE PARTICULARLY PROUD OF

Through my practice, I have been able to discover my path in life and have been able to share it. I am also in the process of completing “World Peace Vibration” by 2023. It is my dream to offer a good quality of bell that brings peace to the people when they ring it (the vibration will slow down their thoughts). The ‘’World Peace Vibration’’ began in 2014 with two bells and will eventually have 45 bells for sacred places including Thailand, Mongolia and China by the end of 2023.

WHAT KEEPS YOU UP AT NIGHT?

The calmness of meditation keeps me up, as I embark on an inner discovery with mental clarity.

WHAT DID TOY WANT TO BE WHEN YOU WERE YOUNG?

WHO’S YOUR DREAM CLIENT?

Anyone that is open minded and committed to their transformational journey.

FAVORITE ‘’ME’’ TIME?

Being in nature and listening to the sounds. Such as sitting under the tree or watching the sunrise and sunset.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

Listening to the mind without distraction is a great source of inspiration.

WHO DO YOU FOLLOW ON INSTAGRAM?

@khangserrinpocheofficial, @dalailama, @michaelbbeckwith, @viviennetang.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOU?

I would like to gather people who also value spiritual wellbeing and create a community and find a place as a “healing village” for all of us to practice, heal and share. I believe we will need more healers and coaches in the near future, and we will need a place for these healers to gather.
