Marking its 23rd edition, Cosmoprof Asia (Nov 13-16) continues its winning formula of “1 Fair 2 Venues”
Focusing on the cosmetics supply chain, Cosmopack Asia will be held at Asia-World Expo (AWE) in Hong Kong from November 13 to 15. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), however, will host exhibitors and finished products from November 14 to 16, spanning sectors from cosmetics & toiletries, natural & organic, beauty salon, hair salon, nail and accessories, allowing attendees to explore business opportunities while receiving a global update on emerging trends in the beauty and wellness.
Launched back in 1996, Cosmoprof Asia is now established as the largest international beauty trade show in Asia. Last year it had the largest exhibition space ever (108,600 sqm), recording the highest number of exhibitors (2,877 from 54 countries) and visitors (83,793 from 135 countries). The continued growth of the show simply re-affirms its pivotal role as the leading platform for high-quality business to business activities in the Asia-Pacific region for the beauty and personal care market.
One of the event highlights will again be the Cosmoprof Asia Awards, which will take place on November 14. The annual awards celebrate innovation and acknowledge excellence on a global level, giving a quality seal of approval to the most outstanding finished products. The aim is to honor the trailblazers and risk-takers who go above and beyond the beauty norm. The awards will pick the best among all exhibitors, and one winner will be presented in each of the categories, including Hair Product, Make-up Product, Nail Product, Natural & Organic, and Skincare Product.
Also happening on November 15 from 10am to 1pm, is its annual Cosmoprof Asia Spa Conference, which will attract the wellness industry to discuss the latest wellbeing trends in the spa and beauty fields.
“For the second year running, the Cosmoprof conference topics have both a personal and professional appeal to me, with a macro overview on the latest wellness trends and a whitepaper review on smart phones and wellness,” says Melinda Yon, who will be the conference’s emcee and moderator once again. “I also find the panel discussions interesting too as they emphasise spa operational issues, and I think Cosmoprof is the perfect platform for industry professionals to check in and find out what the industry challenges are, from regulations and manpower to industry fragmentation and education, as well as more on social media and strategies for creating effective viral marketing campaigns.”
Guests can expect a keynote presentation from none other than wellness pioneer Anna Bjurstam of Six Senses, who is also one of the Founding Board Members of the Global Wellness Summit. She will speak about “Trending in the Wellness Industry – the Intersection of Wellness, Technology, Science, Biohacking and Transformational Experiences” and how these trends impact the future of our business.
Jeremy McCarthy, who heads up Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s spa and wellness divison, will be speaking about “Wellness in the Age of the Smartphone”, uncovering the latest findings and hot topics discussed in the latest whitepaper published by the Global Wellness Institute. He will highlight the intersection between wellbeing and technology.
Furthermore, there will be two panel discussions. The first one will be on “Tackling Industry Challenges” and will feature panellists, including Annie Wong, Assistant Vice President – Spa Wellness and Medical of Dream Cruises, Erin MacNeil, Director of Asaya Wellness of Rosewood Hotel Hong Kong, Kent Richards, Corporate Operations Director of Six Senses Spa, and Lynsey Woolliscroft, Head of Spa Management and Training of Aromatherapy Associates Asia.
The second panel discussion will cover “How Viral Marketing Boosts Your Business”. Panellists include Tony Jira, Principle of DVN Group, Leo Leonard, Chief Marketing Officer of BloomMe, Jeremy McCarthy, Group Director of Spa & Wellness of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, and Vivienne Tang, Founder & CEO of Destination Deluxe.
