In 2012, Belgin Askoy, one of our Destination Deluxe Awards judges, launched her dream of celebrating a day dedicated to wellness. The main aim of this special day is to pause and think, to recognize the value of our lives, to be free from the stress of everyday city life and bad habits, to make peace with ourselves and to raise awareness about living well and increase motivation for more than just one day of the year. Global Wellness Day (GWD) is poised for its 13th annual celebration on Saturday, June 8, 2024, spotlighting the theme #MagentaNature. In 2024, GWD directs its focus towards highlighting the profound bond between humanity and the environment, advocating for a holistic approach to wellness. #MagentaNature serves as a beacon for individuals embarking on a journey to rediscover their connection with nature, urging them to embrace the transformative potential of aligning with the natural world.

Central to overall well-being, #MagentaNature underscores the vital importance of reconnecting with the environment, emphasizing that nature is not merely a destination but a transformative encounter that enriches physical, mental, and spiritual health.

In 2024, more than 150 Global Wellness Day Ambassadors, Key Supporters, and volunteers are extending an invitation to individuals of all ages to embrace a lifestyle harmonized with nature. Together, they are integrating the four pillars of the #MagentaNature philosophy to craft a comprehensive action plan that encapsulates both the tangible and intangible aspects of fostering a deeper connection with the natural world.
