French luxury skincare brand L'Occitane brings Provençal skincare to the world's oldest wine region with the opening of a new Spa L'Occitane at the Minaro Hotel Tokaj MGallery in Hungary

Known for its strong commitment to quality and sustainability, L’Occitane began in 1976 when founder Olivier Baussan started experimenting with essential oils and traditional soap-making techniques inspired by the time-honoured treatments and natural ingredients of his native Provence. Since then, the brand has grown, with its global expansion kicking into high gear in the 1990s. In addition to soaps and skincare, L’Occitane now creates perfumes, hair care products, and a wealth of other amenities infused with the scents of Provence. Expanding into spas was the natural next step for the brand, and Spa L’Occitane is now known for its signature massages and sensory experiences that use in-house products and techniques inspired by global wellness traditions.

Expanding its network of wellness centres, Spa L’Occitane has opened its first Hungarian outpost at Minaro Hotel Tokaj MGallery, a contemporary five-star resort located in the Tokaj region of Hungary’s northeast. A timeless wine destination, and one of the oldest wine-producing regions of the world, Tokaj is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed vineyard that has been producing world-renowned wines for centuries. The region’s unique microclimate and rich volcanic earth create a distinctive terroir that gives local wines their exquisite taste and complexity. Housed in a restored mansion dating from the 18th century, Minaro Hotel Tokaj MGallery offers a lavish combination of classic elegance and contemporary comforts. The hotel features 100 guest rooms spread across four floors, including 10 Junior Suites and three Deluxe Rooms offering in-room saunas, alongside a wealth of dining options and breathtaking views of the surrounding vineyards and countryside.

Located on the hotel’s ground floor, this decadent new haven of wellness is a beautiful 1,600sqm space featuring high-quality products and innovative treatments developed by L’Occitane. There are three treatment rooms here—each one as spacious, comfortable, and peaceful as the next—one of which is designed specifically for couples. The spa also has world-class wellness facilities including a large, heated indoor pool, salt chamber, sauna, relaxation zone, and outdoor adventure pools. Spa L’Occitane by MGallery offers a fully integrated wellbeing experience with an extensive spa menu featuring a wide range of pioneering treatments. Each treatment is carefully tailored to the individual needs of each guest, providing a calming, bespoke experience that calms the mind and body while fostering a sense of overall wellbeing.

“It is an honor for Spa L’Occitane to collaborate with the team at Minaro Hotel Tokaj MGallery. We look forward to offering our award-winning treatments and latest spa innovations within this unique property set in an area of outstanding natural beauty,” said Catherine Tran, Director of Spa Business Development at L’Occitane.

Like Spa L’Occitane locations, the new retreat in Hungary will carry the brand’s signature treatments. All of Spa L’Occitane’s products are developed in the brand’s own labs in the heart of Provence and are abundant in natural components that have verified origins and are known to be effective. The Immortelle Divine Secret facial is among the most powerful anti-aging treatments in the world, making use of products from the brand’s multi-award-winning Immortelle skincare collection.

The Immortelle skincare line by L’Occitane is formulated with Immortelle flowers that are native to the islands of Corsica and Sardinia, and are famous for their ability to prolong life. These flowers are processed to create 100 percent traceable organic essential oils that include a high concentration of active compounds that possess exceptional anti-aging qualities. The 90-minute Immortelle Divine Secret treatment, a signature of Spa L’Occitane, is perfect for addressing deep creases and lines, smoothing and firming the texture of the skin, and minimizing age spots and uneven skin tones. The Immortelle products are coupled with lifting and contouring massage techniques that firm the skin of the face, neck, and décolleté region. This one-of-a-kind facial leaves the skin glowing and creates a more youthful complexion.
