World Wellness Weekend is a global event that is celebrated in 100 countries with local activities that aims to bring wellness to people. Now on its third year, the World Wellness Weekend is back with the aim to highlight the importance of wellness and help people to adopt healthier lifestyles. The event is celebrated each year on the third weekend of September around the equinox.
Jean-Guy de Gabriac, Founder of World Wellness Weekend, said the event aims to remind people that while health is a relationship between one’s body and a doctor, wellness is a responsible relationship between one’s body and oneself.
“Together we can inspire millions of people to adopt healthier and happier habits to respond effectively to the dangers of sedentary lifestyle (obesity, chronic diseases, loneliness etc.),” says de Gabriac.
The event is supported by major hospitality groups and spa/massage clinics around the world. Among them are Anantara, Brisas Group Spas, Canyon Ranch, Chiva Som, Chuan Spas, Corinthia, COMO, Deep Nature, GOCO, Hamak, Kamalaya, Kerry Hotel, Mandara Spas, Marriott, Massage Company, Massage Envy, Mayan Luxury Group, MGallery, Minor, Nobu, Outrigger, Pullman, Ritz-Carlton, Rocco Forte, Sandals, Serena, Serenbe, Shangri-La, Six Senses, Sukotai, Talise Spas, Victoria Jungfrau, Waldorf Astoria and many others.
The World Wellness Weekend is also supported by around 50 trade associates and national federations, which will encourage their members to showcase their “expertise and passion” during the event.
“There is no nobler mission in life than to encourage each and every one to become the best version of themselves, in alignment with their heart, head and guts. It feels great to be well!”
Activities that are part of the World Wellness Weekend vary from wellness operators opening their doors and offering advice to members of the public to large-scale group exercise sessions. Some activities may ask for payment to participate, but most activities are free of charge. Choose from almost 2,000 activities including meditation classes, relaxing massages, yoga and Pilates classes, as well as soothing facial treatments and many more.
“We are happy to take up this challenge for the third year and encourage properties across the world to open their doors during a weekend of discovery and initiation, dedicated to the sheer joy of Living Well with friends and family.”
